As he navigated through Alfreton town centre, Matt encountered a police car with its lights flashing. To make way, he mounted a kerb, a decision he later regretted. You see, he had already hit a pothole on Cragg Lane, and the tyre wall, unbeknownst to him, was already weakened.
"We heard the loud noise, but the damage wasn't apparent then," Matt explained, recalling the moment with his partner Sadie Elliott. The kerb-mounting was the final straw, and the tyre exploded.
