Antiques Roadshow’s gun expert Robert Tilney to share behind-the-scenes TV stories
A renowned firearms and military history expert from Antiques Roadshow is set to reveal some of his off-camera experiences at a farmers’ evening in Halesworth.
Robert Tilney, a familiar arms and militaria specialist on the BBC program, will present his “Tales from The Antiques Roadshow” at the free event on March 4.
Tilney is a Master Gunsmith and serves as a Law Society Expert Witness on Firearms and Ballistics. He runs a traditional gunsmithing shop in Beccles, a business established by his great-grandfather in 1860. His work spans the sale, repair, and restoration of both contemporary and vintage firearms. An avid country sportsman, Tilney also operates a family shooting estate.
The farmers’ evening is a collaborative event between the National Farmers' Union (NFU) and Lovewell Blake, a Norfolk-based accountancy firm. Ryan Lincoln, Lovewell Blake’s agricultural partner, will chair the evening.
“We’re thrilled to launch our 2026 farmers’ evenings with something a little different—an insider’s look at one of television’s longest-running and most cherished programs,” commented the organizer.
“Robert Tilney embodies the true countryside spirit and is a celebrated storyteller. The night should prove captivating for anyone with an interest in rural life.”
The event will take place at Halesworth Golf Club, beginning at 7.15pm on March 4. Admission is free, but attendees must reserve a spot in advance at www.lovewell-blake.co.uk/events.
